“Rust” film fined by New Mexico Environment Department’s Occupational Health & Safety Bureau

According to CNN.com, the crew on the set of the movie “Rust” “willfully violated” and “demonstrated plain indifference to employee safety” which led to the shooting death of cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins according to the NM Enviromental Department’s Occupational Health and Safety Bureau.

The state revealed that gun safety rules were not followed on the set and the team’s management team knew it and did nothing to correct it. Rust Movie Productions, LLC was fined nearly $137,000 — the maximum amount allowed by the state of New Mexico.
