A New Mexico artist, Frank Blazquez is telling the stories of men and women who have lived troubled lives and now celebrating a huge accomplishment by having one of his portraits hanging in the Smithsonian. The title of the portrait is Gallegos Twins from Belen, NM. The exhibit opened recently and will be at the Smithsonian for 3 years.

The 14th annual Santa Fe Independent Film Festival is happening October 19-23 in downtown Santa Fe. The Festival has been seen as an all inclusive resort for cinephiles by Filmmaker magazine and has had past guest attend like Oliver Stone, Shirley MacLaine and Marvel’s Moonknight actor Ethan Hawke. Albuquerque native Mel Ross just dropped his new EP entitled “New Mexico.” The 24 year old recently talked with the ABQ journal about his journey of self discovery and how he progressed in making this project to help him to accept who he is and where he is from. The project is now on all streaming platforms.
