  1. 2 Chainz Pays for High School Graduation 2 Chainz just showed some serious love for the class of 2020.  The ATL rapper and his TRU Foundation paid for the seniors at North Clayton High School to have a drive-by graduation with 2 Chainz as the commencement speaker.  “Congratulations to everybody that’s not walking but riding through today,” 2 Chainz said. “There’s a lot going on in the world.”  The ceremony meant a lot to the rapper as he is also a graduate of North Clayton High School.
  2. Get Paid $20K to Hike and Drink Beer If you’re looking to earn some money a Virginia beer company wants to pay you $20,000 to drink beer and hike the Appalachian Trail.  The Devils Backbone Brewing Company wants to hire a lucky person to be the Chief Hiking Officer to hike over 14 states in the spring of next year.  If you’re thinking about applying you must have a love for beer and hiking since you’ll be hiking from Georgia to Maine in about five to eight months.  To apply you simply need to post a video to the brewing company’s website.
  3. Houston police organizing Floyd rally, march Officials in Houston, George Floyd’s hometown, aren’t just preparing for a march – they’re organizing it. Police Chief Art Acevedo’s speech at a drive-in church service Sunday drew car horns. His anger, he says, comes from those who “don’t see a problem” with Floyd’s May 25 death while being arrested by four Minneapolis police officers. The Houston Chronicle reports a march and rally are planned for Tuesday. The police department has also offered to escort Floyd’s body. George Floyd was a multi-sport athlete and 1993 graduate of Yates High School. Why are violent protests still occurring when police across the country are just as upset? Shouldn’t that help to bring everyone together? Will it help to bring about effective change? Let me know carlos@933TheQ.com
  4. Former President Obama pens guidelines for change As America looks to move forward from protests in the wake of George Floyd’s killing, former President Barack Obama penned a set of guidelines published Monday in Medium. Obama believes there are some ‘basic lessons worth remembering.’ While he says the wave of protests “represent a genuine and legitimate frustration over a decades-long failure to reform police practices and the broader criminal justices system… The overwhelming majority of participants have been peaceful, courageous, responsible, and inspiring. They deserve our respect and support, not condemnation.” He also mentions “the small minority of folks who’ve resorted to violence,” saying they are “putting innocent people at risk,” and adding “let’s not excuse violence, or rationalize it, or participate in it.” Former President Obama says reform starts with elected and appointed officials on the local level. And he says the more specific the demands for reform, the hard it will be for officials to give ‘lip service.’ He concludes with, “If, going forward, we can channel our justifiable anger into peaceful, sustained, and effective action, this this moment can be a real turning point in our nation’s long journey to live up to our highest ideals. Let’s get to work.”
  5. Kim & Kanye Threaten to Sue Former Bodyguard for at Least $10 Million Kim and Kanye West are threatening to sue their former bodyguard, Steve Stanulis, who went on the “Hollywood Raw Podcast” and discussed the couple’s business and personal life, $10 million if he continues to talk about them.  Kim and Kanye sent a cease and desist letter to Stanulis after he made, what they call, “false and defamatory statements.” The letter states Stanulis breached their confidentiality agreement.  Stanulis stated on the podcast that Kanye had “ridiculous rules” such as walking 10 steps behind him on city streets and says Kanye would get angry if paparazzi shots were blocked.  Stanulis calls Kanye the most “neediest” and “moodiest” celeb who hired him. Stanulis, who is now an actor and director said through his publicist, “… no breach of any confidentiality agreement was done.”  Zack Teperman says his client went on the podcast to promote his new movie and old stories that were already public knowledge were discussed.

Why do we put ourselves down?
