“Santa” Eric Schmitt-Matzen Tells the Story of a Terminally Ill Boy Who Died in His Arms

Carlos Duran “We had the hardest time talking about this, this morning. God Bless this man and family. There’s a guy in Tennessee who plays Santa, and he recently got called to visit a terminally ill five-year-old boy in a hospital, who wasn’t expected to live until Christmas. And after he gave the boy a gift, they had a brief but positive exchange . . . and then the boy died in his arms.

This is hard, especially for the family and for Mr. Schmitt-Matzen who played Santa, but I think it’s worth reading and sharing. Sometime we get caught up in the holidays but forget what it’s REALLY about. It’s about, how we treat others, spending time with those we love and most importantly saying thanks for all our blessings.

Here’s the story and video to share with your friends and family.”.
